Pre-game lobbies come with a 4-letter code that you can share, allowing everyone who has it direct access to the lobby.
The quickest way to get into a crossplay match alongside your buddies is by using the game's room code system. This means that, at the moment, Quake cross-platform support extends to PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. As the developer puts it, crossplay "is available on all platforms, so you can play Quake with everyone."
The update is available for free to everyone who owns the game on PC, but Quake has now made its way to last-gen consoles and will soon arrive on Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
