In fact, I think that one of the best features of Linux Mint based on "Ubuntu", is that they can use PPA's. There are those who discourage and deride the use of PPA's in general, but I am not one of those people. It is always recommended to use the Software Manager or Synaptic Package Manager (SPM) for installing software first.
